At the "Press Start" screen or after pausing the game, press Circle, L1, Circle, R1, Circle, L2, Circle. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound.

Successfully complete the game in all three modes to unlock an option that allows you to play as Itchy & Scratchy for one level, Kang for another level, and Smithers for another level.

Successfully complete the new challenger, defender, and champion circuits to unlock options that allows you to play as Itchy and Scratchy, Kodos and Kang, or Burns and Smithers, as well as an arena select.

When you get to Smithers, get hit by the item that the person who walks around the ring throws and your character will be black temporarily.
